Young Programmers competing for “Festival of Code 2014”
Innovation Center in Kosovo hosted for the first time “Young Programmers” competition with children from 10-15 years old taking part in it, based on the idea and initiative undertaken by Kosovo Association for Information and Communication Technology STIKK on voluntarily basis. 10 young talented boys and girls competed with their innovative ideas under international initiative ”Festival of Code”, organized from 29 July-03 August 2014 in Great Britain. “Festival of Code” is part of “Young Rewired State”, a global network of children programmers under 18 years old.
Initially children completed training on programming languages and throughout last week, the selected group of children developed games, mobile apps, websites, and hardware products.
The three best ideas will also be presented to Municipality of Prishtina, so they can be applied as municipal services for citizens living in the capital city.
Project EYE supported this initiative through its Skill Supply component as our goal remains to enhance skills supply programs requested by the labour market for future Kosovar professionals.
